Great for commercial & domestic applications, designed for turning over top soil on garden borders & vegetable plots.

Supplied with a full tank of petrol, the tiller has been built to the highest standards and can be used at any time throughout the year, however, we recommend using the tiller in ground that is not too hard. This machine is not suitable for virgin ground, for this type of application we would recommend a heavier duty machine such as our Medium Duty Rotavator (140010) .

Additional Information:

Features of the petrol tiller include a heavy duty chain case, adjustable handlebars, individually replaceable tines with full width steel rubber mounted tine guards for operator protection and safety, a built in lifting handle, a drag bar (used to control the depth and speed at which the tiller will dig into the ground) and a transport wheel (not required at any point during actual ground cultivation).

Before any tilling can be carried out, the ground must be cleared of long grass and any objects such as stones or bricks that would damage the tiller.

What is tilling? Tilling is simply turning over and breaking up the soil, exactly how deep you till and how fine you break up the soil depends on your reason for tilling. Why till? Tilling is needed if you are mixing amendments into the soil, it is also helpful if you have compacted soil that needs to be broken up or any type of soil that needs to be broken into finer bits for planting seeds, tilling also removes weeds and undesirable roots from the soil.

General Safety Tips:
Before starting work, make sure you clear the area of any objects that may cause damage to the machine and cordon off the work area to access from the general public. Only work in good light and visibility and do not operate the machine if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs. This equipment must only be operated by persons who are medically fit both physically and mentally. Know how to stop the machine in an emergency. Always start the engine in the open air (starting an engine within a confined space can lead to the inhalation of toxic substances). Refuel (use unleaded petrol) outdoors only and replace the fuel tank cap securely. Operator clothing should not be loose and footwear should offer a good grip.
