COVID-19 Supplier Update

COVID-19 (coronavirus) Supply Chain Update 24th March

All of you will be aware of the ongoing situation regarding the Coronavirus/COVID-19. Our business plays a vital important role in delivery of hired equipment to a number of essential services in the UK such as the NHS and NHS Blood Transfusion Service, the MOD, a broad range of Government departments, Network Rail, Water, Infrastructure and Highways. We are seeking guidance from these organisations.

In our communication of 20th March we outlined our business continuity plans and the welfare of our customers and members of our supply chain. We have taken the decision following the Prime Minister’s address yesterday to temporarily close all UK branches to visiting customers at noon on Tuesday 24th March, we will continue to offer collections and deliveries whilst we seek urgent clarification from the UK Government.

As a consequence and in line with WHO guidance, we would remind you of the protocol put in place for our supply chain:

• As usual, our mandatory glove policy will be maintained and they will be worn at all times when loading and unloading equipment from delivery vehicles and while handling equipment. It is important that anyone delivering goods to any location, must wear gloves and stay at the recommended distance. If deemed necessary equipment will be sprayed with antimicrobial sanitiser.

• No employee signature will be given for any goods or services delivered to any site and digital tablets are not to be handed to branch employees. In the event of a query arising, relevant to the receipt of goods, suppliers or their agents will be expected to substantiate delivery.

• Suppliers are instructed to cease visits to branches, office and non-essential meetings with any Brandon Hire Station employees until further notice. Business dealings are to be maintained via telephone, email or online.

We continually assess the risks to our supply chain. As the situation evolves, we are committed to communication and giving our employees, suppliers and customers updates in line with Government recommendations.

Kind Regards

Brian Sherlock

COVID-19 (coronavirus) Supply Chain Update 20th March

Throughout the ongoing situation regarding the Coronavirus/COVID-19, it is our intention to continue supplying hired equipment to the UK and to remain fully operational.

Alongside the welfare of our customers and members of our supply chain, the safety of our team is our biggest priority. As you would expect, we are following the advice of Public Health England and the World Health Organisation (WHO) to minimise the impact to the health of everyone at Brandon Hire Station and the wider Vp plc Group of businesses. This includes following and sharing the advice outlined on the NHS England website.

We have completed an additional test of the business continuity plans, which are in place and can confirm they are robust and fit for purpose. Our telephony system has no dependency on office location and we can maintain normal business operations in the case of extreme events like this, using our network of circa 200x branches. Following recommendations, we have a number of employees temporarily working from home to reduce the threat of transmitting the virus, reduced travel between sites but maintain operational branches throughout the entire network.

In addition to this, as a responsible employer, we would like to assure you that we have a dedicated team within the business working hard behind the scenes to put in place additional measures and ensure we are up to date with any recommendations. As a consequence of these meetings and in line with WHO guidance, we have now put the following recommendations in place for our supply chain, effective immediately:

• As usual, our mandatory glove policy will be maintained and they will be worn at all times when loading and unloading equipment from delivery vehicles and while handling equipment. It is important that anyone delivering goods to any location, must wear gloves.

We operate an annual procurement programme and any orders placed arrive prior to predicted demand. This ensures that we have all the fleet in stock required to service our customers during potential disruptions, this supplements our robust test, inspection and repair protocol. We continually assess the risks to our supply chain. The current status of our supply chain is positive, with all suppliers contacted giving us assurances of uninterrupted support in both equipment and spares over the coming months. Should this situation change we request suppliers inform us.

As the situation evolves, we are committed to communication and giving our employees, suppliers and customers updates in line with Government recommendations.

Kind Regards
