FORS (Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme) is an accreditation that is designed to improve a company’s fleet activity throughout the UK. FORS encompasses all aspects of safety, efficiency, and environmental protection by encouraging and training fleet operators to measure, monitor and improve performance.

Who is FORS for? The accreditation is available to any company that uses a fleet of vehicles such as vans, lorries, mini-buses and even coaches. PASMA (the Prefabricated Access Suppliers’ and Manufacturers’ Association) is the most focused and foremost authority for mobile access towers. As such PASMA is constantly advancing safety standards along with the best practices across a broad range of sectors.

PASMA contains information on numerous towers along with expertise to available at levels to suit everyone including basic first time users. PASMA is completely independent and self-funds itself allowing for complete impartiality and is helping to shape and support the future of the industry through vast amounts of knowledge and enthusiasm.

Pooling efforts from various trade professionals, industry regulators and key decision makers PASAM fulfils a distinct set of roles:

They provide and govern the industry’s training scheme for mobile access towers, including the standard at which the training conforms.

  • Some companies see PASMA certification as the only acceptable proof of competence especially when coupled with proficiency by the Work at Height Regulations.
  • They are a single, centralised source of information on every aspect of mobile access towers.
  • They sponsor research into further advancing safety at heights with most, if not all, of the available technical and training advice was created - using PASMA and its specialists committees.
